IoT & M2M Constellations

S-band bi-directional TT&C for IoT and M2M constellations. Orbitvein's scheduling API supports multi-NORAD contact sequencing — submit a command queue per spacecraft, and the system allocates contact time slots across the pass window automatically. Scale from 5 to 50+ spacecraft without adding ground operations headcount.

S-band TT&C

2.025 – 2.120 GHz Uplink / Downlink

Orbitvein's S-band systems support both uplink command transmission and downlink telemetry capture. G/T values of 18.4 to 22.1 dB/K are suitable for IoT payloads with link margins designed around 50–200 kbps data rates. RHCP and LHCP polarization selectable per contact.

API-Driven Command Sequencing

Queue Commands Across Multiple Spacecraft

IoT constellation operators often need to uplink firmware updates, configuration changes, and telemetry retrieval commands to dozens of spacecraft within a single pass window. Orbitvein's scheduling API supports multi-spacecraft contact sequencing: submit a command queue per NORAD ID, and the system allocates pass time slots automatically across the contact window. No per-spacecraft human operator required.

Scale Scheduling

High-Frequency, Short-Duration Contacts

IoT missions typically require many short contacts (3–7 minutes per pass) rather than the burst 10-minute sessions used for EO payloads. Orbitvein's scheduler is optimized for high-frequency low-duration contact patterns: the API accepts recurring weekly schedule templates per spacecraft, and conflict resolution handles plane-phasing scenarios where multiple spacecraft from the same constellation arrive at a station within minutes of each other.

Typical IoT Contact Schedule

Spacecraft AOS LOS Duration Command
IOT-SAT-001 14:22:05 UTC 14:26:41 UTC 4m 36s TLM_DUMP + CFG_UPDATE
IOT-SAT-002 14:29:18 UTC 14:33:47 UTC 4m 29s TLM_DUMP
IOT-SAT-003 14:41:03 UTC 14:46:22 UTC 5m 19s FW_UPLOAD + REBOOT

"Managing TT&C contacts for a 24-spacecraft plane was a scheduling problem our previous provider's portal was not designed for. Orbitvein's multi-NORAD API let us submit the entire plane's contact schedule as a single JSON payload. Our operations team went from 3 hours of manual scheduling per day to under 15 minutes." — Operations Lead, Aphelion Networks
